This is exactly what a lot of users don't get. NO ONE CARES if you or I use it. It is NOT a PRODUCT. It is a collection of code put together by people with a common interest. AKA, a HOBBY. Just because they make it available for those would wish to use it, and just because a lot of people do find it useful does not change what it is. This is not a monetarily motivated project, there is no company, no financial backing, no paid QA tearmM, and there is no large push to increase the userbase. I realize a lot of users have grown up in a computer world of corporate accountability where they have a expectation of certain things because you paid for them but that is not the world you are in here. Unless we actually had to pay for MythTV we have no valid expectation for it to do anything but take up HD space. > but it needs to be easy for the average schmoe who does not have the technical Then in my humble opinion the "average" person should stick to the paid for, corporately supported fisher price options they have available. If you choose to venture into the deep end of the pool, you better be prepared to learn to swim.
