If you *do* fsck it up then if you read the manual you find a bit saying something along the lines of if you fsck up the update then pop the original driver CD in, it will detect that the bios is foobar'd and reflash from the CD. > I've never updated any bios. Personally I'd say yes but YBMV... If you've already installed linux, don't have a spare HD and are happy with the noise then don't bother, of course you may already have a 1002.003 or later bios anyway. One nice thing I noticed but didn't have a chance to play with was there appeared to be a utility to package a different image along with the bios, might be nice to have a mythtv bios splash page unstead of the Asus one. > This is very quiet already, although perhaps when everything > is working and the cpu hot, I'll hear the real fan. Depends, Mine came with 1002.002 and was very noisy, the fan would rev up and down (which was actually more annoying than just staying constant) also I needed the later (1002.006) bios as I got a nvram-wakup.conf file for it. Once I updated (which was totally painless) it was *much* quieter Regards Druid
