kewl, i'll have to check it out and see ... didn't want to go through the work if someone else could confirm it didn't work :) ... do you use xine or mplayer for movies? do you have problems with it "sticking" in AC3 mode? i'm running from the coax out (via Hoontech Digitial I/O daughterboard) on my SBLive to my receiver and sometimes after quitting xine, the receiver still says "Dolby D" even if i try to play a stereo movie (or mp3z, etc) ... then, i get no sound from anything but AC3 movies ... it doesn't always happen, so i can't fully explain how to reproduce...


Sounds like you have more complex problems than I did. I can use either xine or mplayer for movies. I don't have any problems at all. My asound file is the same as the one posted in this thread by Neil Milne.
