It got better when I recompiled my kernel to use:

but, unfortunately, now after about five minutes, the front end
crashes.
I also notice that not every station reacts the same. Some work
better than others but eventually all fail.
Wow, mine's not that bad. I don't get crashes. My HZ is at 250HZ. I
think I'll try 1000 and see what that does.
