Ok, armed with the correct schematic...

O34,0  lights D18/Select Drive A
O34,1  lights D19/Select Drive B

MyIDE flashes D18A for a brief moment, then lights D19/B.  At that point 
the program "thinks" it's accessing "A" but remains on the P40/left CF disk.
