I asked the question, What make a Brisa UV Lamp different from other UV
gel lamps. This is what they sent.

Hi Marsha,
UV Energy Output
Not all  9-watt UV bulbs are created equal.  The amount of UV light energy
output can  vary  between each 9-watt UV bulb brand.  Every 9-watt UV bulb
brand can produce a different amount of UV energy output. The shape of the
9-watt UV bulb can also make a difference in the amount of UV energy output
it will generate and the length of time the 9-watt UV bulb will produce UV
energy at the required level. The wattage measures electrical consumption not
UV output.
There are a  few  UV gel systems that need less energy output and they often
use a lower
wattage UV  lamp.  Be careful, these  UV  gels  sometimes  have a higher
concentration of photo initiators in them and too much UV energy output may
cause a  burning  sensation to the nail bed, if exposed to a more powerful
version.  The UV gel product can overheat (exotherm)
which   can   lead  to  onycholysis  (detatchment  of  the  natural  nail),
enhancement  brittleness, service breakdown and possible discoloration.  It
is  important  to  use  the  UV  lamp  that  is  recommended  by the UV gel
manufacturer.
Choosing a UV Lamp
Determine which UV gel system you plan to use prior to choosing the
   appropriate Lamp.
You must use the UV lamp designed and formulated for that specific UV
   gel product.
It is not a marketing ploy, UV gel systems are formulated differently
from manufacturer to manufacturer and made to work with a specific UV
   lamp.
Choose the UV lamp that is recommended by the manufacturer.
Competitor UV lamps will not properly cure the Brisa UV Gels.
Brisa UV Gel System must be used with the Brisa UV Lamp that requires 3
   customized maximum efficiency UV bulbs.
Curing the Brisa UV Gel
.
Brisa UV Lamp was developed with a shorter distance between the UV bulbs
and the  fingernails to provide an optimum cure for the Brisa UV Gels.
Brisa UV Lamp has a reflective foil liner, 3 customized maximum high
   efficiency 9-watt  UV bulbs.
Brisa UV Gels require a 2 minute cure per layer, under the Brisa UV
   Lamp.
When you are not getting a complete cure, it will result in service
breakdown and increased potential for developing an allergy to the UV
   gel.

Never use the 10 second timer freeze to cure a layer.

CND did in-depth research prior to developing Brisa and the
Brisa UV Lamp. Many things were taken into consideration during the
development stages....the lamp was only one; but also a very important
issue.

Since working safe with products is the #1 priority with CND, the UV bulbs
had to be taken into consideration. Sophisticated equipment was used to
test UV bulbs and to find the bulb that put out the steadiest amount of UV
for the longest period of time (the Brisa bulb). Some UV bulbs will
start-out emitting a high level of UV then drop-off drastically in the
amount of UV they emit. This drop-off in UV output leads to undercuring and
service breakdown. And it's not something you can "see" because the bulbs
will still continue to emit light.

In addition to the arched bulbs and reflective liners, there are some other
features to the Brisa UV Lamp:

There is a 2 minute and 10 second timer on the back of the unit.
The front of the Brisa UV Lamp has a raised "ledge" for clients to
comfortably slide their fingers or thumb under during curing.
We offer technical support for all of our products through our
hotline. (1-800-833-NAIL) If it becomes necessary for you to use our
hotline regarding Brisa, the first question ask will be "Are you using the
Brisa Lamp?"  We do not test products (or lamps) outside of our systems.
Brisa has been through many tests with the Brisa Lamp. We know how the
product responds under various conditions. If you use Brisa with another
lamp and experience problems,  we assume the lamp is the problem
Choose wisely when investing in your systems. For utmost safety when
working with gels
