Cindy, been thinking the same, but decided to
take action!! I have the same fear and worry, but
decided the only thing I could do about it was fight!!

Melody hit it on the head, change is coming and I
have noticed that I have changed. I have clients
that have been with me for years. I lost about
10 last year because of job losses. Started
thinking, wow, this is starting to hurt. Besides
the new services I have added and talked about
it, started revamping my current clientele.

What I mean is that after doing a client for
2-3-4-10 years, we start taking each other for
granted. Started thinking, what don't I do? And
wow, I don't send thank you notes to them (but I
say thank you when they leave), don't do
birthdays anylonger, don't have flowers on my
desk anymore, wow, diana, maybe ya need to step
it up a notch. Not to get new clients in, but to
make sure that my bread and butter customer service needs to improve.

Now don't get me wrong, I still offer them a
beverage, still give them hugs good bye, but just
need to let them know that I am thankful for
them. I noticed when I did my taxes last week,
that I spent more on them at Christmas, my client
gift column was higher than usual, because I
bought them presents thruout the year.

Ya know, a flower because they cried last week, a
special bottle of oil because their cuticles were
a mess, a special tea cup for a client that hates
coffee cups, flowers for the hubbies funeral,
coloring books for grandchildren, even cut out
recipes, or diet tips, or coupons. Even samples
of skin care that I purchased, half bottles of polish that they love.

I have just been extra special and didn't even
realize it. Cindy maybe thru out all of this
that customer service will go up a notch
everywhere, maybe we all will learn. I know some
of the vet techs here know what I mean when I say
we take some of them for granted, which is wrong.

I know someone will say well keep positive and
don't talk about it, well kind of agree, but then
again, my clients want to talk about it, so we do!!!

Yes and I agree to all those techs dropping out,
WRONG. If you can hold on, hold on!!! Won't be
many left!!! JMHO diana from indiana
