Melody,
I had no problems with the glitter curing.
I did one thin coat of gel then cured, then sprinkled my first color glitter
and put the toes under the light w/o another layer. Then I applied another
layer of gel, cured, placed my inserts and threads,as Diana calls them, and
applied another layer of gel and cured. I had to buff the ones with the
threads. Apply top coat after wiping off the tacky layer.

Ok, I don't see how you get a complete cure with the glitter in the gel
because light won't reflect through it.. Have you had any problems with
that?

Holly,
After you apply your glitter layer, cure and add 1 more layer of clear gel
and cure. This should smooth things out, but if not you can lightly buff it
smooth without removing any of the glitter layer.

I have tried sprinkling and spreading with a brush dipped in gel/glitter
mixture. Haven't decided which way I like best. I am finding I have to
file after the glitter coat to get a smooth surface before I add the sealer.
I had hoped to avoid this and just seal overtop of cured/unwiped gel. It is
not fun filing your own toes! I also find when filing it's easy to take
away too much of the glitter layer and leave bare spots. This will all be
easier on a client than on me. I'm must trying to get the process down
before I do it on clients.

I am presently sporting a beautiful pink and in the sun I can't take my eyes
off my toes....

So... here we go. I am NOT a gel girl as has been previously discussed on
the boards! (lol) I decided to try my hand at Bling... ( I am opting to call
them Rockstar toes because BLING reminds me of my boyfriend's pimp daddy
imitation...LMAO... not a pretty picture!) Here is what I found...

Thank you to all who gave me info! I tried the sprinkle way, the mix way,
the dip the gel in the glitter way; and the last one was the one that worked
for me! I used OPI Axxium because I had some of that I got in a kit. I used
the Gel Base, cured, Clear Overlay Gel with the brush dipped in glitter,
cured, coat of Clear Overlay Gel no glitter to seal, cured. Wiped off the
dispersion layer and VOILA'... Rockstar Toes! Only 30 minutes from start to
finish! I am going to charge $25 and try to add this in to my menu hoping to
get some of the lower price/quick service market! They look HOT!

On a side note, I have done acrylic toes for 13 years and do lots of clients
with those also, but it is a totally different service and totally different
look... I don't think I would like the same thing done with acrylic because
it requires more finishing... just the nature of the acrylic beast....
Anyone who is not doing this... START! It is so worth it!!! If I can do it
with gel, trust me YOU (yes, you!) can too!!!!!!
