Shannon What you are referring to is actually a stress line either from physical or internal (emotional) stress. I got these after my implant in my neck 2 years ago. I noticed that I have a few coming up my fingernails since my husbands hip replacement surgery. As we were taught our nails show what is going on internally. Medically or stress related.

There is a line going from sidewall to sidewall and on the matrix side the toenail is thinner. So you can actually feel the difference at the line. I thought because my big toe was infected for 2 months that would cause the problem on the big toe (but there are 2 more toes with that?) Any thoughts?
