One of the first questions I ask a new AC client is if she is on Birth
Control Pills. If she is I know I have to use an Acid Primer on her no matter
What. It stops the lifting. NEVER FAILS!!!! It is the Body Chemistry.

Well.... Product adhering to the nail has everything to do with body chemistry.
Be absolutely sure your prep is immaculate, of course.. Try double priming and
protein bonder. Prime and/or protein bond each nail individually before product
application. Otherwise.... It could be a case of chemistry not cooperating!

Peggy I wish I knew why she couldn’t wear them. It’s the weirdest thing. It
probably has to do with her body chemistry. I have heard the same thing with
hormonal teenagers and pregnant women. Not just acrylics but any nail
enhancements and even polish.

At the moment I do not do gels. Did you figure out why she couldn't wear
acrylic?

I also have a client that does not wear acrylics well. However she wears gels

I have a client who's nails will not hold acrylic. Does anyone have any ideals
on why this is happening? I've taken care of all the necessary steps on her
just like I do on all of my clients. She has started to show signs of
mold/fungus and that really bothers me. How do you all generally take care of
that? All help will be appreciated. Have a great day ladies! Thanks!!

this also happens when one has cancer or I suppose any illness....the body
stops growing the "unimportant" parts ..hair and nails and concentrates all its
strength on healing the "hurt". IF you don't lose your nails ...there will be
a horizontal ledge ...where the growth stopped temporarily...and then started
again. The deeper the ridge...the harder the fight...so i've been told. I
didn't even think of this when someone mentioned horizontal ridges because she
didn't mention being sick but I guess it could happen for stress also...just
probably less of a ridge....

What you are referring to is actually a stress line either from physical or
internal (emotional) stress. I got these after my implant in my neck 2 years
ago. I noticed that I have a few coming up my fingernails since my husbands
hip replacement surgery.

As we were taught our nails show what is going on internally. Medically or
stress related.

Got another question for you techs:) I have 3 toes that I noticed had an issue.
There is a line going from sidewall to sidewall and on the matrix side the
toenail is thinner. So you can actually feel the difference at the line. I
thought because my big toe was infected for 2 months that would cause the
problem on the big toe (but there are 2 more toes with that?) Any thoughts?
