so you can, for example, use opi gel colors with the akzentz? I thought you
shouldn't mix because of different manufacturers?

I always mix,  I use the best of what I like for each part,  I have Starnails
T3 pink fiber gel I like to use for my builds,  Akzentz POW, natural or ultra
white and then I top with Starnails T3 clear.  And if I use gel polish,  I mix
those with the others as well,  I have 3 or 4 different brands of gel polish.
They all work great for me.

Do you mix and match? I mean like use Entity white and another brand pink over
the white and so on.

Angela,
I use Entity, NSI and all different types of Nailite gels.
I LOVE the Entity white because of the consistency. It is very thick but just
enough that it is not a PITA to use.

Thanks Lynnette, it happens to everyone I do. I only have about 7 gel clients
so far but every one of them gets hot. I will tell them to do the peek a boo,
Thanks! Do you use the Stylus Nailite gels?

Angela,
Some clients are prone to heat spiking. I have it no matter what brand of gel
and no matter how thin it is applied. I also can feel acrylic curing on my
nails. It gets very warm.
You can try the "peek-a-boo" method. (Who came up with that term? I LOVE that!
It explains it perfectly!)
Some fingers will just always be sensitive.

I am having major issues with the gel heat spiking. I know if the gel is to
thick it will do this. I have been applying a thin layer of clear and cure,
then a thicker layer of pink over the clear. How many layers do you guys
usually apply? I have been using Brisa and I just tried Nailite. They both heat
up.
