I work at a high end salon too. We just hired a new nail tech fresh out of school. You know what she told me? That I follow the rules too closely when it came to sanitizing my implements and pedicure bowls!!! I was FLOORED! When I informed the owner she said for me to tell her she had to sanitize like I do but never followed up with it. Unbelievable. Shannon K

I just had a student of mine hired at a very HIGH END SALON and the manicure area was very nasty and wouldn't have passed state board inspection if they had visited when she statrted there. So ladies alot of salons out there have gotten lax lately and need to shape up. Ok enough of my soap box. This is both chop shop and nss. Many techs use the nss term as it is nicer than chop shop. Nss places can be very upscale salons not following industry standards. Years ago some of the sector that is referred to as chop shops started to scream racist because it was close to chop suey!! I guess they never realized that chop suey is actually an American made recipe. It makes no sense! Anyway you choose the term for you. I call it as I see it.
