Kupa, Kupa, Kupa!!

Bought my first Kupa up-200 about 15 years ago...I still use it for pedis all
the time. I bought my second Kupa (I think a up-2500) about 9 years
ago..thinking that I would need backup one day when the first one died, and
also that I could use one at the pedi station... about 5-6 years ago I bought a
smaller Kupa because I was having an issue with one of the handpieces...so I
wanted back up for when I sent it in for repair (by then I couldn't live
without 1 at my pedi station also!) In 15 years I have sent my handpieces
in..I think 2 times to be cleaned and "fixed." The issues I was having
were..1). the bit kept sliding in and something needed to be tightened. 2) I
bought those little rubber things to put at the end of the bit so dust wouldn't
get into my handpiece...and I was getting liquid (disinfectant) into the
handpiece and it started to get rust in it! (I kept my bits in the
disinfectant tray all day while working and the little rubber things kinda
collected a bit of liquid and since I didn't give it time to dry out......I
have since stopped using the rubber things and have had no problems!)
So...I whole heartedly recommend Kupa!

Tammy
I feel your pain!

I have a buffalo magic wand that will probably never die! Drawback-handpiece
is a little on the heavy side. Have had this for over 15 years.

I have an Aseptico which just stopped after 10 years. It has a nicely weighted
handpiece and the box is metal.

I have 2 Kupa's that are abut 7 years old. I have had to send in both
handpieces once this year because the cord shorted-those things should swivel.
Lightest handpiece of any file I own.

Priced ranged from under $200 to $700 for the Aseptico.

Lots of people on the list use Kupa. They are easy to work with, good customer
service and fast turn around for repairs.

HTH!

Subject: NailTech:: I NEED A RELIABLE E-file!!!!! (sorta long)

Ok everyone,

I'm really frustrated!! In October 2008 I purchased a Lasco e-file which was
offered on our beloved
nailtech list. Coupon code, free foot pedal and shipping, really good deal! Ok.
Tired of buying a new
e-file every year, and was excited to have this offer available when I actually
had the funds!! LOL!!
So it arrived, all's well. March 2009 rolls around, am out for 6 weeks with
total hip replacement surgery
and recovery. Back to work, and by May 2009 my Lasco is DEAD! Just stopped
working!! Contacted
Donna Schultze and wondered why this thing is dead? Aren't these pro drills
supposed to last me YEARS???
Yes. She agreed. So I shipped it back, insured it, and they replaced the motor
in the handpiece. Evidently
they burn out???? So within 2 more months, it started sputtering again, slowing
down, weird sounds.
Familiarlly (?) I recognized sounds, so called and spoke with Ray, the tech who
repairs. He picked up on
my interest and willingness to clean and maintain my equipment without sending
it out everytime it spits-up.
So after confirming that by teaching me this, I WOULD NOT void the 1-year
warranty, I gladly and intently
listened and memorized his detailed instructions on the cleaning of my e-file
myself! YAY!!! Wah-Hoo!!!
Worked wonderfully....except when 2 months roll by...now about Sept 2009.
E-file completely STOPS.
AGAIN. Ok. Now I'm really pissed!! Have to start using the dreaded backup that
SUCKS. Way too slow,
bits keep sliding in, not enough power, you name it! "THE" reason I purchased a
more professional one!

So....my dilemna-------> I tend to yell and not think straight when I feel I
have been screwed, and so I haven't
contacted them...then the year was up last Oct and now I'm REALLY screwed! I
need some suggestions
and/or a VERY good company that sells e-files that LAST. And I mean years. I
know there are many of you
on here that have had e-files last for years, and I would like that also!!

Anyone have any helping ideas????

Thanks a ba-zillion,

Tammy Smith
