You do not need to do any filing with Shellac unless you are buffing off a peeled section of the nail same as you would before polishing. Shellac takes the same procedure as polish so shape, cuticle work, ScrubFresh, apply Shellac!! You do not need to remove the shine from the natural nail. Holly L.
