Wow. Good memory. It was actually my niece that I was taking in, she is back
with her dad now. I am selling real estate full time, my new husband and I own
our own company now. I was doing some of my oldest clients at home for a while
(that got old pretty quick) and I made a deal with them that if I rented in a
salon again, they would work with my schedule and I would do what I could do.
I work 3 days a week ( about 20 hrs) and that is all my hands can take. I have
carpal tunnel that is beyond surgery (if you remember). But this schedule is
working great and It really goes hand in hand with my real estate stuff. I am
an old school acrylic tech (I did gels in the late 80's early 90's). This soak
off gel stuff throws me for a loop. It takes twice as long to do that than for
me to fill them. LOL

Heather, I find on my BB I have to hit reply all or it does not reply to the
group. How have you been? You took time off to raise your little one right?

I was thinking the same thing :-). Old nailtech I guess. How are you doing?
This is Heather Tackett, used to be Heather Sweat. I joined the nailtech
mailing list againa couple months back to catch up on things. I am doing nails
again a couple days a week and trying to understand all this new gel stuff.
Also, not used to doing the mailing list with my blackberry. Do I just respond
the same way?

my questions is why.. why would you use Shellac, eco, or Gelish over gel or
acrylic?? whats the point????? Maybe I am out of the loop not doing nails any
more.. but I just don't get the point.. these products are specifically made
for natural manicure clients as an alternative to polish...

Ok, here's the only thing I'm doing different than you - I'm using Gelish's
"Top it off" gloss...... my Fedora has been crinkling on everyone and this
stuff smooths it right out.
*Sorry for mixing systems, but I LOVE Gelish's top coat!*
See if you can see this picture:

  - at least 3 of those were crinkled before the top coat......

Hey Becky... NOT only did the top coat not take it out, on 2 of the 4 the
Shellac wasn't even stuck to the nail under the crinkle!!! I buffed it off that
spot and put another coat on the whole nail. It was fine, but took extra time.
:( Practice, practice, practice...

I use a base w/sog over acrylics - Foundation by Gelish. Should be so

thin you ScRuB it onto the nail.

Top coat takes out the crinkles in Shellac, don't panic. It's like magic. :o)
