Let's pause for just a moment to say that almost all of my clients are a little OCD, so even the slightest polish wear is enough to send 'em screaming...
I do color acrylic as well, but that can be a pain in the arse also if they are changing color all the time. These ladies mostly prefer french, so the color is for the occasional whim or special occasion. I am not gonna screw up their acrylic for a twice a year thing... LOL. I use a gel sealant anyway, so my light is already out. So, I slap on a sog color, have 'em wash, and send 'em out the door to get on with their nail-beating lives... for $10 additional, of course... <insert evil laugh here> And P.S. one is a mechanic, one is a welder, and two are rural route carriers for the post office... hee hee Michelle Cordes, Owner/Licensed Nail Technician The Nail Spa in Silverdale, Washington "The spa for your hands and feet since 1997" www.myspace.com/thenailspa ________________________________ From: Debbie Doerrlamm <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, May 20, 2010 10:23:37 PM Subject: Re: NailTech:: SOG over acrylic ?'s OK I get that point.. so why not just color gel or acrylic in total?? Just seems to me.. do the acrylic now I gotta switch gears put all the acrylic stuff away and drag out the gel, lamp, different brushes, wipes, wipe solutions, change towels.... not busting chops just trying to get the thought process down.. maybe it's just my ADD shining through.. I have trouble switching gears :) Thats one reason I was so reluctant to jump on the gel train.. I could never remember to stop and cure 4 then do the thumbs.. brain says 5 right 5 left repeat till done.. Their polish even over acrylic only lasts a few days what kind of work are these women doing?? <giggle> Deb At 11:52 PM 5/20/2010, you wrote: Hey Deb.... >As a general rule, I use the sog over natural nails. Maybe I am out of the loop not doing nails any more.. but I just don't get the point.. these products are specifically made for natural manicure clients as an alternative to polish... NOT only did the top coat not take it out, on 2 of the 4 the Shellac wasn't even stuck to the nail under the crinkle!!! I buffed it off that spot and put another coat on the whole nail. It was fine, but took extra time. :( Practice, practice, practice...
