I think Lynnette and Denise are both right. The lady I talked to at Light Elegance said it was fine to use a 9 watt (one bulb) lamp because it was small on the inside. You just could not do the thumb at the same time because it was not deep enough for the whole hand. Light Elegance lamps only have 3-9 watt bulbs. So that would be 3x9. Their lamp is smaller then the 4 bulb lamp so it uses less bulbs. Less area in there for the bulbs to work. They use the single bulb lamp for toes. It just depends on the size of the space on how many bulbs you need. Angie Wingerter
