Pam, I have had mine on for about 3 weeks. I would say it gives you
an itsy bit more strength, but not as much as a SOG base and top.
It is now a dull finish, but could say a matte finish. (of course my
nails in acetone vs a client). Also turning a little yellow, again,
sog is porous and expected that.
Don't know if you could by calling this a gel set, if they have
length, then they will still break at the sides. Maybe two coats of
the base????
I use sog and have a service called soft gel manicure. more strength
to the nail vs gel polish only. diana from indiana

Hi Teks,
Now that many of you have had time to play with the shellac or
other SOG's, I was wondering if anyone has tried using the clear
basecoat, no color coat, and then the clear top coat. I watched
the video, but couldn't tell if the color coat HAD to be used in
between the base and top coat. I have a couple clients who just
wanted a little strength (no color) without the prep involved for a
complete gel set.... So... inquiring minds want to know! What do
ya'll think? Will the base coat then top coat work to help
strengthen natural nails?
