Star sent me a sample of their base and a french pink and white. I tried it on
my daughter and I used the base as the top also. It is still very shiney and
looks like I just did them. Now she is 13 and doesn't have her hands into much
cleaners and such. I used it on my aunt and I used LE super shiney over it
because she was thinking she might want to polish her nails with regular polish
for an upcoming wedding. Super shiney doesn't soak off in acetone, so I am
hoping she can just use remover and
her french will still be shiney.

Pam,
Yes. I have done it a few times already. I only tried it with the Axxium SO top
and base. Star only has a base and I do not want any polish when using SOG.
Shellac does not give it any added strength.
I just got my Gelish, so I will have to try that next time.

Subject: NailTech:: Shellac Used for Clear Finish?
Hi Teks,
Now that many of you have had time to play with the shellac or other SOG's, I
was wondering if anyone has tried using the clear basecoat, no color coat, and
then the clear top coat.  I watched the video, but couldn't tell if the  color
coat HAD to be used in between the base and top coat.  I have a couple clients
who just wanted a little strength (no color) without the prep involved for a
complete gel set.... So... inquiring minds want to know!  What do ya'll think?
Will the base coat then top coat work to help strengthen natural nails?
