My former co-worker said she had a learning curve for the french Shellac, but when I tried it, I didn't have a problem. I seriously do it just like a french polish... base, cure, thin pink, cure, white, cure, top, cure. I don't dry swipe and I don't flash. I do one hand, and then the other while it is in the lamp. That is with Shellac. HOWEVER, when I use Axxium, I do backswipe and flash... it seems to move more. No wonder I use Shellac for all my no-chip frenches now... LOL... How do you apply the white? Are you a dabber or a swiper? I swipe from left to right, then go back and dab a little in the right hand corner of the smile line where my brush likes to flop off at the end of my swipe. Then I pull the excess off the free edge straight out working from right to left...seems to also cap that way too. Did that make any sense? giggle, long week! If you want me to video it for my fb for you, I will.... :) Michelle Cordes, Owner/Licensed Nail Technician The Nail Spa in Silverdale, Washington "The spa for your hands and feet since 1997" www.myspace.com/thenailspa

I know there must be some trick or technique to doing french manis with the sogs...I first tried it with Shellac and it looked awful...the smile line was all uneven. i tried again with Star's ECO. Got the same results, and i did try sweeping the smile line with a dry brush. Also, i made sure it was really thin when i applied it. It looked terrible. I wondered if it were my lamp, but i haven't had any trouble with anything else curing. I should be getting a new lamp soon when Star gets their shipment in, but my cures have been fine with everything else--both sog and trad gel.Any other suggestions? I have a TON of french mani clients. Is there any tips or tricks yall could offer me? Why is the french the only thing i've had trouble with---is there just something about the white that makes it different than any other color?
