I am with Michelle. I do this a lot, including on my own pitiful foot. I used
to love my toenails(I have the nice big ones with long nailbeds, plenty of room
for art, etc.) About a year and a half ago, I stubbed my foot on my brick
hearth. It cracked my big toe, middle toe and almost pulled off a pinky , all
on the same foot. Big toe never recovered, it is just wavy and wierd, never
reattached, middle toenail fell off completely, and pinkie toe is now thick and
gross. I have used everything on them. I just make an acrylic nail on the
middle and file down and overlay the other two. Gel or acrylic stays on them
like concrete, I just fill them in. It is nice to have that foot almost matches
the other. :-)

I have 3 clients like you describe... over the years I have had tons. I use
dispoable files anyway so no worries of cross contamination... They usually
only last a month depending on how much nail they have to anchor it to, but
they are thrilled to have "normal" feet and become regulars. That allows me to
keep an eye on them, and take them off and replace them if they do anything
weird. I was orginally against the idea, but my client said "What? Like if it
screws something up, they are gonna remove the toenail?!? LOL... already
happened..." so I gave it a shot. I have had no problems over the years. Not
one single problem. It can be a challenge to build though... :)

Subject: NailTech:: prosthetic toe nail

Can I, and more to the point, should I build a prosthetic gel nail over a nail
that's mostly gone and the remainder is fungal?  That just seems like a bad
idea to me, but never having done it before, I want the advice of the experts.

Thanks
