Hey Becky,
I agree. I know people do it, but nail professionals just can't work on clients with medical nail problems. Every state is different, but I know for sure Arizona State Law says that you may not perform any service on a client that has "a visible disease, Pediculosis or an open sore" Unless you have a doctor's note saying the client is not contagious. A disease means any abnormal condition, Pediculosis is lice and I think open sore is pretty self-explanatory. Ewe. If you did it in AZ you would not just be breaking the law you would also open yourself up for administrative fines, losing your license and perhaps a lawsuit. As I was looking at AZ State law and I also found Arizona Administrative code R4-10-112.H regulating the beauty industry says "A licensee or student shall wear clothing" So that totally wrecked my plans. Oh well the weekend is over any way. I never sculpt on fungus or injured nails... if this person has a long nail with just a tiny amount actually attacjed, can you imagine her pain and horror when she kicks that sucker off??? You've just created the perfect opportunity for further damage, infection, pain... I would recommend she go buy a press on toe nail and take her issue into her own hands. And yall who do this are crazy!! Sent from my Evo. On Jun 27, 2010 12:39 PM, "Michelle Phoenix" <[email protected]> wrote: Hers came off from an injury, but she's definitely fungal underneath. She's got about half a nail left. I thought I'd sculpt her something that was really short so there wouldn't be too much pressure on the remaining nail plate. I'm excited. This will be my first one!
