Well said Jill! I think you hit the nail (pun intended) on the head!

I feel that a little competition is good anyway and there is plenty of room
for everyone!

Do you all realize that we are witnessing a major change in our industry
right now? How long have we been screaming for instant dry nail polish???
What a great time to be in this industry!

Subject: NailTech:: Re: Apologies from CND

I was just talking this week to someone else about the lack of product
availability concerning Shellac. We can't get any of it now at our
local Cosmoprof...their order of Shellac didn't come in last week.
This is not a good sign. They've NEVER been able to get the UV lamp
either and it's made the ladies work at the distributor a living
nightmare because they field complaints every single day from angry
techs/hairstylists wanting to buy Shellac. Glad I don't work there!

My surmise was demand outpaced production, but by the time production
gets caught up to meet the demand, frustrated techs will have already
sought out another line, such as Nail Harmony's Gelish. Good for Nail
Harmony, bad for CND. This miscalculation by CND will help the sales
of lesser known nail companies that have the hybrid uv polish and the
smart companies will immediately begin a marketing strategy to reach
the frustrated techs, thus filling this void.

When the smoke clears there'll be all this over produced Shellac
sitting on the shelves and CND will begin running sales. We probably
will see this as early as the Spring of next year. And the lesser
known nail company that successfully captures the lost CND market
share will become as well known as the big two, OPI and CND.

But that's just my opinion and I could be wrong.....no one really
knows what the future holds in store and like the saying goes "he who
lives by the crystal ball, eats glass". :)

that you check regularly with distributors in your area regarding receipt of
Shellac shipments.  Please note that CND does not condone or endorse the
sale of Shellac on eBay.  We are taking necessary steps to manage the
reselling of Shellac via unauthorized channels, as the quality and
authenticity of this product can not be guaranteed.

impacting your business.  If you do not have all 3 Shellac products
necessary to provide a full service (Base Coat, Color Coat and Top Coat), we
strongly encourage you NOT to improvise by mixing the system with other
product lines.  Shellac was designed as a system, and if one of the
components is missing, you will not achieve satisfactory results for your
clients.
