That sounds so relaxing. Love the pariffin. I tried putting the wax in a baggie
first and spilled it out when I tried to put it on the foot. Luckily it was my
daughter. She didn't appriciate the wax all over her new volleyball pants. What
baggies do you use? How do you rinse your hands after using the scrub?

This is what I do most of the time. Sometimes I change the order slightly.

Place wet towels in towel cabbie to heat up.
Seat client and spray feet with an antibacterial footspray & wipe dry.
Clip and file nails.
Apply cuticle treatment or solar oil on cuticles.
File callous with efile and Medicool bits.
Use a sugar scrub on feet and lower legs. (one right after the other)

(From this point I'm working on one leg/foot)

*Remove towel from cabbie and wrap the towel around foot & leg, allowing it to
steam the entire area.
*Remove scrub with hot moist towel, cleaning between toes.
*Massage the lower leg and foot.
*Apply paraffin to the foot in a plastic bag.
*Place the foot in a fluffy bootie to steep while working on other leg/foot.

(Now I move to the second leg/foot)

And repeat the * steps.

(Move back to 1st leg/foot)

Remove fluffy bootie.
Remove the paraffin bag.
Push cuticles.
Clean the perimeter of the nail of cuticle particles with the Medicool small
diamond ball bit.
Clean under the free edge.
Using an ingrown toenail file, slightly round the corners of the great toenail.
Buff the nail surface with a fine buffer block (I cut a buffer block into 4 =
pieces, then cut each in half diagonally to make 8 pieces per block)
Scrub the nail with ScrubFresh or alcohol.

Apply basecoat, 2 coats of polish and topcoat.
Depending on the situation, I polish the nails to allow each coat a bit of time
to dry before adding the next coat.

Congratulations, Jill! I've been doing waterless pedi's for about 3 years. I
printed the directions from a 2002 post I found on nailtech. I thought about
doing them for 5 years, till I was forced to do them due to a lack of a large
sink. I'll never go back. The owner, where I am now, tried to discourage me
from
doing waterless. She said she has a reputation to support and that clients want
that soak in warm, swirling water. I stood my ground and my new clients
appreciate what I do. She spent $10,000 to install 2 pedi thrones, so I
understand her wanting me to use them. But they have been used by numerous
techs
over the past 5 years and I don't know how well they cared for the pedi
thrones.
Besides, soaking in water for 15 or 20 minutes is so drying for the skin and
nails soak up the water....up to 30% in that amount of time.

Subject: NailTech:: I took the plunge into waterless pedicures!!!!

Just thought I'd let you all know how glad I am that I took Jaime
Schrabeck's "waterless pedicures" class 2 years ago! For over a week,
my back has steadily hurt worse and worse (thanks to that speeding
driver that rear ended us in June 2009, 2 weeks before the Smoky Mtn.
Networking Event). I was popping Aleve, Ibuprofin, and muscle
relaxers, in addition to using ice packs and heating pads with almost
no relief. I also was taking arnica tablets that the local Amish folk
use for muscle aches, too!

I couldn't think of anything that I did to strain it, other than walk
the dogs once and lift heavy pedi tubs multiple times a day. In my new
location, I have to carry the pedi tub much, much farther. So this
week I decided to try doing waterless pedi's and I used my husband as
my guinea pig. I'm still tweaking my routine, but I've almost got it
down pat.

Now, going into Friday tomorrow, I've hardly had to take any pain
pills today since making this change!!! Plus, I know you'll find this
hard to believe......I've met no resistance from my clients AND their
feet are even softer when I finish a waterless pedi than they were
when I used water. Thank God that my back is on the mend!!

If you've ever thought about trying waterless pedi's, I highly
recommend them.
