thank you Lorraine for your help. But I was wondering *why* it didn't work on her. I have never tried acrylic on her (so I don't know if that lifts on her) ...she is a fairly new client...She has been here 3 times...and LOVES the sog concept. I don't think she spends oodles of time in the kitchen...she is very active...teaches a spin class, bicycles alot and is an english teacher! She is very healthy right now...her body and her nails... I am baffled...

Patti, I wanted to mention that not every client is a candidate for everyservice. I believe Doug Schoon said on the forums last week that Shellacis meant for a client with HEALTHY nails. Personally I belive thatapplies to all these new soak off gel polishes. Any client beingtransitioned from acrylics or gels will almost definitely experiencebreakage and possibly free edge lifting in the beginning. Just as we make a determination if a client will get acrylic or gel, wehave to stop and think about of this client is going to do well on a gelpolish service if that is what she is requesting. Perhaps this one client- since none of your other people are having problems - is just not acandidate for this type of service? Pati, I was thinking about this a lot today due to one of my clients comingin. I don't think she could ever wear the SOG's because of the way her nails are built. Her stress pointis half way down the nail and just overall assessment of how theyare. Is it possible she just isn't a good candidate and needs thestrength of acrylic? She may be getting too much "play"in the nail which causes them to peel. I hope I was clear indescribing my thoughts Pati. Also Pati, what base and top coat are you using? I usually only use one glove, but have been usingtwo. Also, if I want to do art on the finished nail would I useacetone or alcohol to correct mistakes? Lastly, if you put the SOGon acrylic nails and they come in for a fill, you have to file it offright? Doesn't that take forever??? Thank you everyone for your help : ) Della WestIndianapolis I will just take the over enhancement part of this oneDella! You can apply Gelish (eco, Shellac or any of these new soak offs)over acrylics or hard or soft gels. You need to file them off becausesoaking could breakdown and have ill effects on the acrylic/gelunderneath. It should not take you any real time to get it off, justremove it at the time you would thin out the enhancement while preppingfor the fill.
