Sarah,
I highly suggest something more substantial to stir your gels. Even a
orange wood stick, the toothpick does not really have enough surface
to effectively stir the gels. Stirring properly is important to get
the pigments properly mixed with the gel. If regularly NOT properly
mixed, at some point you will have a bad ratio of too little or too
much pigment - too much or too little gel in relation to the amount of pigment.
I personally love the Gel Stir Stick Debbie sells in the BT Shoppe
