ya agreed, it's the flat surface making contact against the bottom of the
pot that is important.  The toothpick is a point.  You need to literally
scrap anything off the bottom of the pot.

I've got my own metal stir stick already on order.  I made the head of it
small enough that you all can slip it into your bottles and stir them
too...because I know, shaking them isn't enough.  If you can't hear the
bebe's be concerned.  The more solvent that evaporates and thickens your
colors be MORE concerned.  You'll love this stick...I'll get it to Lorraine
as soon as it's here (any day now).  She actually was my inspiration to get
it.  She sent me my first "HEY LOOK AT THIS" sample.
