Hello all!

Just wanted to throw my "two cents" in on this....

and I will start by saying that I know I am more lenient about all this than
most, but instead of letting this upset you, maybe you could
look at it a different way. Maybe the inspector only has so many hours in a
day, and wants to spend most of their day "writing up" the
people with safety/health violations. You said yourself they start with your
salon because it is the easiest to inspect. Much like inspecting a
restaurant....they probably go in, and can tell a lot from just a few little
things. Is it worth spending their time on people who, for the most part, are
doing the right things? I would rather they let something like a license
renewal slide so they have the time to go after the people who never bothered
to get licensed in the first place. And yes, I do think renewing a license is
important. But I guess what I'm saying is that the inspectors don't have an
easy job. I would be willing to bet this inspector doesn't let everyone get
away with having an expired license....just "did her a favor" because
everything else in the salon was in order. I don't find that to be such a bad
thing. I guess I compare it to the police, not giving a ticket for speeding,
when the person is wearing a seatbelt, car inspected, registration and car
insurance up to date, etc etc.

Much like the clients that nitpick us about our job...maybe the state board
doesn't like us telling them how to do their job. On the other hand, they
probably appreciate a heads up about things that could harm the client.

Just my opinion. Sorry if I offended anyone.
