Becky, For me... there was nothing to do about it. During chemo, my oncologist did give me some medicine for it but for some reason I never took it. (I was taking so much medicine anyway) Mine is not horrible...I can not go barefoot anymore because my feet are too sensitive.... to the hard floor...to the cold...etc. I almost always wear sneakers... love the "tone-up" type... NOT for the exercise but for the cushioning. Like I mentioned earlier..had to amend the way pedicures were done to me in the beginning but now they can be "normal"... just not too much callous filing should be done. It is very hard for me to wear heels..my feet do not want to go in that position! (from my bunion to my toes...they don't want to bend like they have to to get into a heeled shoe) My neuropathy is mostly in my toes.. sometimes I can feel it up to the ball of my foot. The feeling I get is... well.. the feet when cold feel like a brick! They become hard to move and my toes are somewhat numb and slightly tingle. Sometimes it is worse than other times. Also my toenails have not grown back well. They are very dry, have vertical ridges and sometimes split at that site. I would call it a form of onycophagy (I think that spelling is off) they sometimes just disintegrate at the sides! I wish your MIL luck! Hope she is feeling ok. Took me well over a year to feel somewhat like myself!
