I have trouble getting these manicures down in a reasonable amount
of time. I do think Shellac is the easiest to remove but I like the
way Gelish applies better. I don't like how the acetone is drying
out the nails. My manicure clients are hooked on this polish but I
don't like what I am seeing. They are wearing there nails shorter
because they are breaking them easier now. The white spots are ugly
under frenches. I would rather see them wear traditional hard gels.
I think I am going to try to start filing off like Lynnette does and
see if that is better.
Angie,
I just removed my own nails over the weekend, under less than ideal
circumstances and while it did take a little longer than normal, they
did come right off. I was out of town for the holiday, and decided I
was going to take off the 8 week old color and just polish because I
had no lamp, but there was a beauty supply up the block. I got
acetone, I had tin foil, and didn't even think about cotton balls
while I was out, so I used paper towels! Well, like I said it took a
little longer than my normal 5-8 minutes, maybe 10-12 minutes, but it
came right off.
Are you using the eco Removal Solution? It has extra ingredients to
help reduce the drying effect of the acetone and it really does speed
things up (another reason it took so long on me this weekend - that I
used straight acetone).
There is no reason they should be breaking more often, they should be
able to wear a longer length with less breakage IF they know how to
behave. I think sometimes this is the advertising wording of "no
chip", "tough", etc that maybe puts in the clients head these are
indestructible. I know I have to stop myself sometimes from doing
this or that forgetting I no longer have hard gels on - and it has
been since April I have not had hard gels!
How long is it taking you for a complete color change? What are your steps?
