If you keep the natural nail drilled out underneath, you can avoid having to 
cut the nail off and completely redoing it (sometimes). I have a client that I 
do this too because her nails grow down. If I keep the nail drilled out I can 
keep the artificial one growing straighter. Sometimes I still have to cut it 
and 
start over too.

Thanks. In the summer we do keep them short she works the docks and fills boats 
, runs lines and can't have them long. 

She just hates when I cut them down and re do them but it works real well for 
me.
