straight back) This is not what my grand daughter's look like tho... her's is
more of a "v' shape... and it is a "ridgey" nail not smooth...

Michelle is right : curette (thanks Michelle)
I dont need a rasp because i can get the file on the corners because theyare
not kept super short

I will not cut ingrown toenails.I do use a thin file. If you show them how to
do it, sell them a goodthin toenail rasp, (is that what you use, Deb? I think
one of mine hasthe melon baller on the opposite end) I think that is the term.
I pickedup some great ones at Chicago last year.
This way, you start them on it and then it is up to them to continue.Plus, they
will have a much better pain tolerance when they do itthemselves.

Cathyren, I really agree with you here.. we recently had this discussionon the
forums and that was a big point many made, that too many techsroutinely snip
the corners and this could actually cause problems such asingrowns. OK so now
she got relief from the deep cuts for 2-3 weeks, butpedi's are generally 6 wks,
so now shes coming back sooner.. oops.. Ireally dont think thats a good
business decision!

One recent pedi I had they used this really great new drill bit (Simmycan tell
you about it). Immediately I was in less discomfort, I have notbeen in pain for
a while, some days, just some level of discomfort. About2 weeks , maybe it was
only 1 week, I was getting the numbness and painagain. I discussed with the
tech and I also spoke to Simmy who explainedwhile this is a great bit, it
really should not be used on pinchers likeI have.

I've got this fantastic itty bitty melon baller thingie tool hahaha Iknow there
is a proper name for it .. but it escapes me right now :) andit does a
fantastic job of cleaning the nasties out of the sidewall
