I just stocked up on acetone because our Sally's had it on sale for $10 a gallon! I also use the foil/cotton/acetone method and I've been using the Miss Webril's cotton bands for years (6 rolls to a box) and I stock up on them when I find a good sale, too.
The price increase notices just got posted on my stations yesterday and I'm raising the Shellac (and all other uv gel polishes) Manicures to $37. I was charging $35, but with the cost of supplies I found I was under pricing it. I'd have to charge over $40 if I used the CND wraps because they cost $5 per each client, so I've never tried them. I, too, am wondering if it's not harmful though to soak off in acetone every other week. I've had 2 clients who've had a nail or 2 become detached from the nail bed and I have no idea if this is a coincidence or if the hyponichium is drying out. One lady is going to the dermatologist, so I gave her the empty packaging for Shellac and told her to ask the Dr. about it and to also ask him if she shouldn't be soaking them off in acetone every other week. We'll see what happens at her next visit. Jill Wright Bowling Green, KY.
