I am not using both traditional gel and a clear base. Either I use a thin layer
of traditional gel or a soak off base. Depends of if I want the option of
soaking off or not. Is that what you are asking?

I am so glad to see that you guys are having the same issues because
all I was reading before was how wonderful it all was. It is to nice
to be able to be honest about these problems. How much of your concern
are you sharing with your clients? Are you smiling through and not
revealing your concern? They obviously can see what is happening and
sometimes they are the ones who bring up what they have noticed; white
spots, curling in. I have many of them on faithful daily application
of Solar Oil and the improvement is minimal.  On one client I have
done the clear traditional gel, then either regular polish or gel
polish-which seems like a double process I should charge more for. I
get a little irritated when I have to 'blend' products to get results;
that, to me, is like using 2 products, takes more time. I just wish
products would deliver as they advertise and it was as simple as
promised. I, too, have efiled off gel polish-axxium tends to get thick
and rubbery after too many coats. I do agree, Jill, that the
perception of the efile equals "artificial". BUT, I work with a girl
who advertises proudly that she only hand files, but it's an 80 or 100
grit used for the entire service, which is more damaging than a higher
grit bit or band. I have had to use that response a time or two . SO!
If you are traditional gel base coat, then clear overlay gel, THEN gel
polish color and topcoat, how long is it taking? how much do you
charge? do you go right over the clear OL gel while tacky film is
still on? AND which curing light are you guys using? The OPI one
drives me and my clients nuts. I was using a 36 watt Forever Natural
one from Nailco, but it crashed and burned after a year of continued
use. Thanks, guys!
