Hi Diana, I know there is a condition out there called "runners toe" ... Being that often times runners will lose their big toe nail (s) ... The runners I have met usually buy their sneakers a size larger and wear thicker socks for cushioning. Good luck and congratulations on doing so well with the E word! ( my treadmill holds a lot of laundry!)
