O.K. this is going to anger everyone.  Please realize I was trained in
Disaster Response by the United State Air force.  One of the many
types of disasters we respond to is radiation (mostly after crash's).

Having said that:  Yes UV exposure can and will cause cancer.  It
depends of length of time and amount of exposure over a period of
years.

Personally I would never us an UV lamp for any reason.   The amount of
chemicals and radiation exposure I have been subjected to (even with
hazmat suits) of course has been accumulative over the years.   Ladies
Radiation is accumulative (you don't get rid of it after being exposed
- you add after each exposure).

Using just the nail UV lamp should not be a problem unless you have
used it weekly for a good deal of time (say 5 years).  This is very
different than say the booth's at tanning salons.
