With all respect to your personal situation, the problem at issue is the people
are speaking with authority about something they have not researched. We need
to keep in mind that the strongest UV lights in our industry are only 9
watts---our refrigerator lights are 4 times the wattage. Tanning bed lights are
hundreds of times greater.

O.K. this is going to anger everyone. Please realize I was trained in
Disaster Response by the United State Air force. One of the many
types of disasters we respond to is radiation (mostly after crash's).

Having said that: Yes UV exposure can and will cause cancer. It
depends of length of time and amount of exposure over a period of
years.

Personally I would never us an UV lamp for any reason. The amount of
chemicals and radiation exposure I have been subjected to (even with
hazmat suits) of course has been accumulative over the years. Ladies
Radiation is accumulative (you don't get rid of it after being exposed
- you add after each exposure).

Using just the nail UV lamp should not be a problem unless you have
used it weekly for a good deal of time (say 5 years). This is very
different than say the booth's at tanning salons.
