I agree with Rhonda about the Facebook business page. It is free and it scores high in internet searches. Another one to do is Google Places, again free but it will come up right away on a search of your business. If you are going to have a website make sure your designer optimizes it for searches. You have to think like a consumer when people search for nails, what do they search on? There is no point in spending big bucks on a website if it doesn't come up in a search.
Pati, personally I think $400 is too much to spend on that kind of advertising for a year unless you know someone who advertised their business in the church bulletin and got a lot of return from it. Of course one of the things about being in business for yourself is knowing your market, and where they spend their time, so maybe that is a great fit for you. But I would search out other options that don't cost as much, to begin with. Laura M.
