I use several different lines (Shellac is one of them) - all successfully. My clients tend to pick based on colour, not brand. Once they choose, I will explain how the process works with that product, what they can expect from it, how it will be removed, and what they need to do once they leave my salon. I do agree that most of them think of "Shellac" as the only product out there, let's face it, that's the one that draws them in, and we as salon professionals are benefitting from CND's massive advertising campaign.
There is a place for all of the products that you would like to use. If you don't want to use Shellac because it's costing you more per service, then don't. Just make sure you have a good choice of colours for your clients and it should all work out fine J Laura From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Patricia Arsenault Sent: November-17-11 7:03 AM To: Nail Tech Message Board Subject: NailTech:: Shellac Brainwashed Hi, I work at a salon that uses Shellac but I get charged a product charge everytime I use it. Honestly, I don't find it my favorite gel polish so I usually will try and use Gelish or Geleration on them that I bring in. No product charge for me and better colors and wearability for the client. This is only my opinion mind you. I have been finding that the general public is BRAINWASHED into thinking that Shellac is the only and best thing for them to use. I don't know a simple solution to this problem but there has to be one. Anyone that can shed some light please let me know.
