For my client gifts this year, I bought those see thru plastic "baked goods"
bags at the drug store that have holiday themes printed in color on the clear
bag. (20 for $1.00) I put a magnetic calendar (.47 cents each) for their
fridge with my business card on it along with either a "file kit" (that I
bought for a dollar from Premier Nails!) The file kit has a 100/180 file, a 3
way file, a cuticle pusher, and a nail brush! Whoa! Looks like I spent a ton
of money instead of $1.00! If they would rather have hand cream, I have some
packed with purse size hand cream (also $1.00 each) instead of the file kit,
but each bag still has the magnetic calendar. They can also choose to
substitute either
A small bottle of top coat (.75 cents each)
OR
A gift Certificate for a paraffin dip (hands only! a $6 value, but costs much
less for the service than that!)

The BIG hit this year.... and this is something I included in each bag, is
a spring type of clothespin with a cotton ball pinched in it! They look at me
like I've lot my mind! Until I explain that it is to be used to remove their
toe nail polish without ruining their nails! THEY LOVE IT! I know the hint
came from this list, so thank you to who ever suggested this! (clothes pins
were $2.99 for 50 of them, cotton balls 100 for $1.49)
The last item that I have on each bag is a Christmas RED plastic pop can
opener. One of the flat plastic ones that fits on your key ring. I bought
them at our local discount outlet for 5 cents EACH and then put one of my
pretty return address labels on each one! I put a ribbon thru the pop can
opener, and then tied the bag shut with it so it makes a nice bow on the front!
Very pretty! Very impressive if I must say so myself! hehe!
I love handing these out to clients, they are SO impressed! You'd never know I
did it on a such a small budget!

I need some opinions on an idea for client gifts this year, and hoping some of
you might have had luck with this scenario in the past.

The majority of my clients come to me for nail services. Probably 5% ever book
pedicures with me, but I know they get them, and probably at chop shops
(judging from the art work on the big toes!). I’m not really comfortable
asking them why they aren’t getting them from me – I’m a non-confrontational
kind of person. They know I’m clean, I use a Footsie Bath, perhaps they like
the thrones, I dunno. But I also know they’re not taking advantage of cheap
mani/pedi deals because I do their nails regularly.

(Note, I do rockstar/gel toes a lot in the summer months, and those clients
generally get a pedi with it since it’s a bit of a discount, so I’m not talking
about those clients).

So I was thinking about offering them a g/c for either a free pedi next year
or a half-price pedi. These would be people who’ve never had one from me, so
I’m looking to build my pedi business with them in the future.

What do you all think is the better option, and why? I have 2 pedis – one is a
$30 express and the other is a $40 deluxe (I don’t call them spa). Or is
there another choice I’m not seeing?

I need some fresh eyes to look at this because I’m having a hard time deciding
what to do, and starting next week I’ll be handing out their gifts.

Thanks J
