Subject: NailTech:: Re: How was my day? Let me tell you.

Here's how my day was:

After working online with The Event till 1am & still not getting all my emails
answered, I slept fitfully, dreaming that the possible brown recluse spider
which bit my husband might be lurking in our house. After tending to his
disgusting, seeping wound for several days, we're praying that he heals good &
in time to leave town next week for Gatlinburg. Complications for him could
mean hospitalization, loss of limb, or life.

Then I was up & online again at 8am to work on The Event. I never did get all
the emails answered & many were from techs & educators asking me questions that:

a) I'd already sent them that info several times in the past- they just didn't
read it.

b) the info they wanted has been posted on the web site www.nailtechevent.com
since last year- they just didn't read it.

I've reached the conclusion that nobody reads anymore.

Never completing what I needed to, I rushed off to feed our dogs, shower, had
25 minutes to fix my hair and do my makeup, then I stuffed cereal down my
throat before I hurriedly brushed my teeth. I'm creeped out because I hear
noises up in the attic...could be a bird that pecked its way thru our cedar
siding (it happened before with a woodpecker) or it could be a mouse. No time
to investigate it tho. I leave a message for the hubby to check into it when he
gets off work before me. Then I drove to work listening to voicemails on the
way. At the salon I had back-to-back clients which means no breaks and no time
to answer the phone.

I love all my clients, but being a solo tech at this time is very stressful. My
phone kept ringing with calls, texts, some left voicemails, others just hung
up. I got my messages on my "lunch break" which consisted of a weight loss
shake & me driving over to the pharmacy to get more bandages, gauze, tape, and
a first aid kit for our trip. I made an appointment for the pest control
company to spray our house when we return from Gatlinburg, too. We have no idea
where the spider bite came from, but better safe than sorry.

Checked my messages on the way back to the salon. Couldn't make out what 1
techs message was, but they wanted me to call them back. When I did, it went to
voicemail so all I could do was direct them to our web site for info. 2nd
message I returned was from another tech...I'd already emailed her the info she
was requesting....I also left her a voice message.

Then I had to call the office manager at Urgent Care and protest why we should
get a bill from them when they didn't treat my husband, which resulted in him
having to go the very next day (less than 20 hours later) to see his
GP....whereupon he got 2 shots in his wound, then had it cut open and the
infection pressed out of it by a nurse. You couldn't pay me enough money to do
her job. So now we'll have 2 medical bills instead of 1, thanks to the
ineptitude of our Bowling Green Urgent Care. At this point I now feel like
crying due to the frustration and stress.

Back at the salon I ran 15 min. late on a clients bad nails, so that put me
getting finished doing nails at around 7:45pm tonight. Then I had 3 packages to
open because for whatever reason some companies don't want to send product
donations in advance, photograph them all, and make notes to send thank you's
to the companies. I didn't leave the salon until after 8:45pm.

I eat a quick bite of leftovers once I get home, change my husband's nasty
bandage again, discover that he never did go up to check the noises in the
attic, plus he forgot to get the strawberries from the grocery that he was
supposed to bring home. After which I snap on his head because I find out he
signed up for the football package on cable....even tho we JUST had to pay self
employment taxes this week! Since I'm self employed and will be off work until
July I've also had to pay every bill for this month BEFORE we leave town and he
knew that.  Gggrrrrr!

After telling him how selfish he is...only thinking of himself, I inquire about
the wisdom of signing up for more bills right before we leave town.....when he
won't even be able to watch the cable that we're paying money for while we're
gone. Now he's duly shamed and does the only responsible thing....he calls the
cable company and cancels it while we still can without being charged. We agree
to revisit this football package issue later next month.

Then I begin my 2nd job again....woking online with the Nail Tech Event of the
Smokies. I'll be up till midnight at least with all the online work that I have
to handle by myself because ......well, that's just the way it is until I can
afford to hire outside resources to help me manage this Event business. For
now, I'm a company of 1 and The Event is my baby, so I've got to take care of
it.

This whining has made me feel slightly better now:)

No wonder this week I've had a glass of wine every night. And that's how my day
was!

don't worry and she came only about 5 mins. late.   She said her friend in Fla.
has "Dashing Diva French Shellac" I explained I have both Dashing Diva and
Shellac which are two different things.  She seemed confused and I explained
the difference. But more so she just wanted what her friend had. I told her
that the tech probably mixed the two and made up this service, which I could do
also. I started to file her nails, she took her hand from me and said I want
them more square. I made them more square, she said they weren't square enough
and then got up and said this isn't working and left.  By the way I have been
doing nails for 21 years and think I have the whole square nails thing down
now.  I'm so sick of NSS
salons making up bs and telling people they have "Shellac" or gel or whatever,
then I have to suffer through trying to get the crap of their nails.  I'm sure
this girl will be leaving bad comments on Yelp or Facebook also, since she
found us on the web and is tech savvy.  I spend half my day on the phone or
face to face trying to educate people.  It's starting to get on my last nerve.
