The topcoat didn't end up sticking I guess... Every nail developed a bubble under it... I think I used too much pigment! Becky F. Kansas City, Mo. Pigments and color chipped and peeled off in about a week. I have tried using minerals but they aren't acting the same as how it looks like true pigments behave... I can't drop alcohol over them how Holly has demonstrated, and create the droplets ... The technique just doesn't work with minerals... I'm looking for something to play and practice with that wont break the bank... Becky F. Kansas City, Mo. If you were to try and mix them with water they wouldn't reconstitute into paint. I have purchased at Michael's the exact same pigments that CND is selling. I found them in the section where the stamping and embossing supplies ate. They came in a package of 12 and there were 2 different sets, one metallic/pearl and the other matte. If I remember correctly they were about $22 each. I've used them to make colored acrylic, gel, as eyeshadow, in lipgloss, and as CND suggests. I was at Hobby Lobby today and seen powdered paint and also watercolor paints that looked dry. Angie Sent from Yahoo!
