I hate to hear that, but it's the same pretty much all over the USA. One of my clients went thru nail school last year here in KY and had the same experience. She'd come to me practically in tears, but I encouraged her to keep going. Schools only job is to prepare you to take state boards, even if it means you do all the work teaching yourself. At least you've got the internet, because back in the 80's when I graduated )with 4 days of nail training) from cosmetology school, we only had Nails magazine www.nailsmag.com. A few years later we had Nailpro www.nailpro.com.
If you're interested in a nails-only show that's within driving distance in the South, we're holding the 6th Nail Tech Event of the Smokies www.nailtechevent.com <http://www.nailtechevent.com>in the resort town of Gatlinburg, TN on August 25th, with optional Monday Workshop Classes on the 26th. We've had techs attend from LA., so hopefully you can, too. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than flying to Orlando, Vegas, Chicago, or NY for us Southern techs! While there you can network with other techs & students who are in the same boat as you are. Hook up with some beforehand if you need a roommate or to carpool by posting on our Facebook page, too! Look for "Nail Tech Event of the Smokies".
