As much as I respect your opinion, Christian, I have to disagree. There is no "off time" for Vegas, it is always full.

ack that totally Patrick

the main reason i come is to meet people, and it was a nightmare in vegas.

Um, me too? I already attend Defcon in Las Vegas. I *HATE* Las Vegas, for all the reasons named previously, and a few more. It is difficult to find a place to have a conversation in hotels that *don't* have casinos (such as the Alexis Park *shudder&), and impossible in those that do. I've been hoping to attend another one, and there's just no way that I'd even consider going to Vegas. I already have to do it once a year; once is plenty for me.

Heck, if it weren't for the fact that the airport is what is fondly termed a "regional" airport (meaning very small jets, or prop planes), I'd tell you all to come here. At least we have the network (oh, yes, indeed we do). Hotels would also be very inexpensive. Google's got that new data center just down the road (so to speak).

The Eighties: I tried being reasonable once. I didn't like it.
Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't teach eight cats to pull a sled.
Stupid is doing the same thing over and over and expecting
different results.
