Neko should be better for memory, and better when comparison what is comparable performances : Lua VS Neko. Neko does not have yet a JIT so LuaJIT might be faster than Neko. I would be interested to know your benchs results anyway (there is some Shootout tests in /neko/src/benchs) Neko x86 JIT will be part of the next Neko release, and it will be standard (not a 3rd party extension like I think LuaJIT is).
