Hi Lindsay, I love your tubes! The etched version looks uber awesome. Certainly I would be happy to get one. How much would you charge for it? I think your tubes look even better than Alek's (Alek, no harm meant - your nixies and hixie are excellent!). By any means I now much about cold cathode tubes, but some thoughts: - Maybe if you managed to lower the voltage it would mitigate the sputtering. But probably it means to use neon. - From what I red it seems that the gas pressure is rather important. If it's too low you get excessive sputtering. - Folks who make tubes at home give a lot of attention to the metal parts. They treat them with some acid (chloride?), then heat by induction or electrically when pumping to fully degas. They put the gas mixture in once the electrodes are fully degassed and the vacuum is consistently high. Sorry if I was writing obvious things ;) Congratulations!!!
