Very interesting. Looks like a prototype or even home brew conversion
of a wire ended tube onto a B14 or B12 base. When I saw the RCA box my
immediate reaction was that it was a huge numitron, but of course the
tube itself is unmarked - the box may be unrelated to the tube. But
the structure does look right for that.

I think you'll find that the winner was Giorgio Basile who's a
prominent tube collector. His astonishing collection can be viewed

If you drop him a line in due course, perhaps he'd answer follow-up
questions about the tube.

Great spot though - I hadn't seen that one!
