Use a heat sink right up close to the glass, a pair of tweezers, a pair of hemostats, a pair of nose pliers, all of which should have SMOOTH jaws, NOT serrated. Personally I like the hemostats best because they can be locked in place, as can a REVERSE pair of tweezers. Nose pliers can be used with a rubber band around the handles to hold them in place.
