Firstly, these things contained a small amount of mercury - just be
careful what you do with it.

The 7971 is one of the longest-lasting tubes (if you don't have a cat,
that is...) so it'd be really good to have one of the cathodes (and
possibly the anode) analysed to get its alloy mix.

As Jens Boos and others are interested in making their own nixies, if
you have access to any of that analytical stuff still, (or if anyone
else has), lets see what this tube was actually made of...
