Lets be clear about this - there is very little that's new in the
world and however good we think we are, with billions of other people
around, someone else out there is almost certainly more skilled/
brighter/better. Even Newton (who was notoriously arrogant) and others
before him understood "nani gigantum humeris insidentes" (something
like "I'm a dwarf but standing on the shoulders of others"). Many have
quoted variants of this, including Einstein...

Also, this forum is not, contrary to popular belief, the sole
repository of all nixie knowledge on the plant. Nor does it have all
the nixie-related fabricators on the planet. Nor do a lot of the
members choose to publicise what the make. Its disingenuous to claim
originality of an idea without substantiating that, and claiming "No
contest" is not a good defence...

People - be modest - this is not a land-grab for ideas - its a forum
for the spreading of knowledge and enthusiasm relating to nixies - its
not life or death - its a bit of fun. If you think you thought of or
did something first, just take a moment to reflect and enjoy...
Lighten up!
